The Maggie Valley Club Team
We have assembled a team of leading golf, resort and hospitality professionals dedicated to total guest satisfaction throughout the entire Maggie Valley Club experience. Our team is stronger than ever, and we look forward to serving you.
Signet Golf Associates
Pinehurst-based Signet Golf Associates was formed in 1995 with one overriding philosophy – to provide complete golf management services to its clients. While some management firms are strong in business planning, accounting, or agronomy, Signet Golf Associates provides all three. Along with that is a focus on customer service in all facets of club operations. Visit Maggie Valley Club and see the difference a truly professional management company can make.
Richard Brucki
To guide the club into a new era, Richard Brucki was added to the MVC team as general manager. Brucki’s background includes seven years as general manager of Providence Country Club in Charlotte, and three years at the exclusive Old North State Club in New London, N.C. He has also served as GM of Columbia Country Club in Columbia, S.C., and Cabarrus Country Club in Concord, N.C. At MVC, Brucki oversees all day-to-day operations of the club, golf shop, golf maintenance department, and food & beverage department. He's also in charge of the resort rental program. Brucki stresses customer service in everything he does: “I enjoy interacting with people and like to be a part of making your day better.” Brucki is a native of N.C. and a finance graduate from High Point University. He and wife, Laurie, have three children.
Brian Broderick
The culinary delights available at the Maggie Valley Club are the creation of executive chef Brian Broderick. Broderick is a 1989 honors graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and has extensive experience in upscale club environments. Prior to joining Maggie Valley Club in late 2006, Broderick was executive chef for six years at the Greensboro City Club. Before that, he was sous chef at Forsyth Country Club in Winston-Salem. His resume also includes Greensboro Country Club and the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta. Broderick owned the popular restaurant, Undercurrent, in Greensboro in the early 1990s.
Steve De Witt
Maggie Valley Club welcomed Steve De Witt as its new Head Golf Professional in February of 2008. De Witt's background includes 8 years as the Head Golf Pro at Glen Cannon Country Club in Brevard, N.C. and the General Manager/Head Golf Pro at Stryker Golf Course in Fort Bragg, N.C. Steve has worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Greensboro Country Club and Linville Golf Club. He obtained his Class A membership from the P.G.A. of America in 1995. He served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Mountains Chapter of the Carolinas P.G.A. in 2005, as well as the Tournament Chairman in 2003 and the Vice-President in 2004. Steve was selected as the Golf Professional of the Year for the Mountains Chapter of the Carolinas P.G.A. in 2006.
Mike Stamey
Maggie Valley Club is proud to have one of Western North Carolina’s most experienced golf course superintendents. Mike Stamey’s career in the turf grass industry began in 1979 and he’s held the superintendent position at MVC since 1991. Stamey has been deeply involved in the renovation of the course at Maggie Valley Club, and has developed a strategic plan for continued upgrades to the layout. Prior to coming to MVC, Stamey was golf course superintendent at the former Great Smokies Hilton Resort in Asheville. His resume also includes renovating the executive course at Fontana Village.
Vickie Fletcher
Maggie Valley Club's outside golf sales efforts received a boost with the addition of Vickie Fletcher in fall 2006. Fletcher focuses on selling golf packages, tournaments and corporate outings. She also assists with membership sales. Fletcher brings a wealth of experience. She was previously general manager of National Golf Club in Pinehurst, and has spent the last several years handling corporate and outside sales for National Golf Club and Anderson Creek Golf Club. “A renaissance is taking place at Maggie Valley Club and it’s great to be part of that,” says Fletcher.
