MANAGER'S MESSAGE
Welcome, Summer!
We are thrilled to kick off the summer season here at Maggie Valley Club & Resort. We started things off with our popular Member Luau by the pool - over 130 of you came out! It's always a fun event; it was great to see our Members out and about.
We have a packed Activities Calendar this year—one of our most exciting (and one of our favorite) activities is our Kids' Camp. We had a great turnout to the June Kids' Camp, and they all had a lot of fun! You can see pictures of all of their activities on our Facebook page. I encourage you to sign your child up for the July and August camps! We're also introducing Junior Tennis and Golf Camps offered by our Tennis and Golf Professionals; we expect those to be well attended and informative! Now's your chance to get your child involved!
Our goal here at the Club is to give people and families of all ages the opportunity to spend time together, doing things that they love. We're offering a horseback riding trip and a zipline trip this summer, as well as numerous hikes and outdoor activities. Take advantage of your Club and all that it has to offer! We are here for you!
If you're not a Club member, we are now offering Memberships with no initiation fee! Your whole family can become a part of Maggie Valley Club & Resort for less than $700 a year! Love to golf? Golf Memberships for your family are less than $3,500 a year, and that includes unlimited greens fees! Unlimited access to our pool, fitness center and tennis courts are reason enough to join! Come be a part of our family!
The weather has been perfect for golf lately; have you seen how great our golf course looks? We are extremely proud of our Golf Course Superintendent and his staff who put their heart and soul into maintaining the course, and their hard work shows. Make sure you book a tee time soon!
Lastly, a few of you have mentioned you are not receiving our email blasts. We want to be sure you are getting these as we post updates and changes to our schedules, so please be sure to contact us at info@maggievalleyclub.com or call Carolyn Plott at (828) 926-4831 if you are having issues. Fitness
YogaEvery Wednesday at 9am and Saturday at 10am in the Activities room.
Join Candra Smith to learn breathing techniques and the art of meditation.

Water Aerobics
Every Tuesday at 5pm and Thursday at 12pm through the end of August.
A cardiovascular exercise that tones, trims & strengthens muscles, improves flexibility and builds endurance without putting stress on the joints. Free for members, $10 per class for nonmembers.
Ballroom Dance
6 weekly sessions.
Session #1: every Thursday from June 30th - Aug. 4th at 6pm.
Session #2: every Thursday from Aug. 25th - Sept. 29th at 6pm.

Group Hikes
Every Friday morning at 9am.
Experience guided day trips to some of the best hikes in WNC.

Special Saturday hiking trips. Details posted online one week prior to hike.

Special Interest
MahjongEvery Monday at 1pm in the Trillium room.
Mahjong is a game that originated in China, commonly played by four players, and is a game of skill, strategy and calculation. To make a reservation and for more details, contact Shelia Mathis at (561) 909-7676.
Team Trivia
Every Wednesday at 7pm in the Pin High Bar & Grille.
Two rounds of 10 questions from a variety of topics followed by a final wager questions where teams have the chance to risk all their points for the win. Also featuring all-you-can-eat wing specials for only $9! Cost is free to participate.
Doggie Playdate
Every other Thursday (7/7, 7/21, 8/4, 8/18, 9/1, 9/15, 9/29) at 2pm.
Join us on the Activities Lawn for some doggie play time featuring our doggie pool, toys and treats! FREE for members.
Ladies' Spa Night
Thursdays at 6pm (July 28th, Aug. 25th, Sept. 29th).

Dining with the Chef
Tuesdays, July 19th and Sept. 20th at 6pm.
Join the Chef as he prepares a made-from-scratch meal, sample wine and enjoy spending the evening with fellow members! Must RSVP to (828) 926-4826. Cost TBD.
Horseback Riding & Cherokee Day Trip
Saturday, July 23rd: 8am - 5pm.
We will meet at 8am and depart for Smokemont Riding Stables for a waterfall horseback ride, a 2.5 hour trip. Then we will visit Oconoluftee Islands for a picnic lunch to relax by the river. After lunch, we will head over to Tour of the Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual to see a large display of baskets, masks, pottery, finger weaving, woodcarving and more! Cost is $85 per person. Must RSVP by Wed. July 13th (minimum of 4, maximum of 12). Call (828) 926-4826.
Navitat Zip Line Day Trip
Saturday, August 13th: 8am - 5pm.
The zipline canopy tour allows participants to experience a secluded mountain cove from high in the treetops. 10 ziplines, ranging from 120 to 1100 feet in length, 2 rappelling courses, 2 suspended sky bridges, and 3 short hikes. An approximately 3.5 hour tour on well over one mile of suspended cable! Price TBD upon # of participants (cost to include transportation, zipline tour and lunch). Call (828) 926-4826.
Wine Tasting
Saturday, Sept. 10th at 6pm
Join us for a night of wine appreciation and tasting led by our local wine expert. Learn how to pick the best fall wines and pair them with your favorite foods. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers. Must RSVP, call (828) 926-4826.
Fly Fishing Demonstration & Lessons
Saturday, Sept. 24th at 9am.
Do you want to learn how to fly fish or need some help with your technique? Join our local guides for demonstrations & lessons on one of the greatest hobbies in WNC! We will supply the equipment. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Call (828) 926-4826.

Balls & BrewsTuesday, July 26th from 4pm to 6pm.
Meet us at the Driving Range to get tips on your swing with our PGA Professionals and sample some of our keg beer or house wine! Cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Call the Golf Shop at (828) 926-6013 to RSVP.
Tennis
Private LessonsSchedule time to learn the basics or work on your technique with our PTR Tennis Pro Csaba Essoe. A 30-minute session is $30 for members, $45 for nonmembers. Call (828) 550-8518.

Summer Day Camps
Week-long Kids' Camps from 10am - 3pm. July Camp: Mon. 11th - Fri. 15th. Aug. Camp: Mon. 8th - Fri. 12th.
All 1st - 8th graders welcome at our traditional day camp built on teaching important values through activities including sports, cooking, crafts, nature expeditions, swimming with WSI-certified swim instructors and much more! Junior Golf Clinic
Tuesday, July 5th - Friday, July 8th, 8:30am to 12pm.
Bring your child out to learn the basics of the golf swing, basic golf rules and etiquette and make new friends in a fun environment. Session is open to boys and girls ages 7—15. Cost is $125 per child for members and $150 per child for nonmembers (includes lunch each day). Clinics led by Head PGA Professional Scott Tuttle and Assistant Golf Professional Trey Smith. Jr. Tennis Camps
Three-day tennis camps from 9am to 3pm.
July Camp: Monday, July 25th - Wednesday, July 27th.
Aug. Camp: Monday, August 15th - Wednesday, August 17th.

Beginner Swim Lessons
Enroll your child with us now to give them a head start on the summer by learning basic swimming skills and water safety. Contact Kristin Hawk to schedule 30-minute lessons.
Available days/times are: Tues./Wed. 11am - 4pm and Thur./Fri. 2pm- 4pm.

TGIF Ice Cream Social & Pool Party
