Our instructor, Christine Hanley, a Lolita’s Legacy™ Certified Pilates Instructor and a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT); in 2023, she was designated a Second Generation Pilates Teacher and Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master™ .  Christine is passionate about the Pilates Method and, especially, Pilates Mat – the basis for the system.  Hobbled by an unfortunate roller blading incident nearly twenty years ago, Christine discovered, and then embraced, Pilates in her search for an exercise program that would improve her well-being.  Initially, the Pilates mat repertoire was challenging because she had no discernable core strength.  Then, little by little, her core strength improved until one day Christine realized that she was experiencing an absence of pain.   She has been committed to the Pilates method (and mat work!) ever since.

  • About the Pilates Method & Our Classes

The Pilates Method is a form of body conditioning created by Joseph Pilates which emphasizes the integration of the body, mind, and spirit.  The Pilates Method creates lean, strong mucles.  There are no huge number of repetitions that fatigue and overdevelop muscles.  The exercises are of low impact and can be practiced safely (often with modification) by anyone at any age.  The breathing, core control, balance and spine flexibility exercises are especially beneficials to seniors, elite athletes, sports players and GOLFERS.  Pilates is for all.
